Facelift Procedure

Basically, with the majority of facelift-related procedures that are performed in clinics today, an incision is made on the hair line. It starts above the temple and then continues on until it reaches the mastoid muscle behind the ear. This method of incision facilitates easier tightening of the underlying tissues, and it also helps to remove excess skin and fat. If necessary, another incision is made under the chin. Dr. Barnouti will have to assess if your skin is still in good condition or if there is little need for a facelift. This aspect will also determine the size of the incision.

Of course, after the surgery, you will have to expect bruising and minimal swelling on the incision site which will last from 2-3 weeks. Remarkable results appear in less than two months. Since the skin on the face is somehow thinner than that of the rest of the body, try to bear in mind that your scars will heal and refine into a faint, barely visible mark in a year.
